1.) Geat Value!

This is a great chair. Took about 45 minutes to assemble, maybe less. Appears well made. Very good people to deal with. Would buy from again.
2.) Pretty good for the price

Received quickly with no damage. Good assembly instructions. All you have to do is add the arms and the base. Works well but mechanism is a little tight. Expect it will loosen as used. Definitely looks like a more expensive chair than $140. I expected a bone (light color) and it is more of a taupe (like the picture) which I definitely prefer. Hard to explain the fabric...does kinda look like leather but feels like it has nylon or something similar. Looks like it will probably wear well.
3.) Good value in this price tier

If you're looking for an economical recliner in a low price tier, this is a good value. This upholstery feels soft and leather-like, and the padding is very adequate in all areas except the seat could probably use just a bit more.
If you want the plush luxury of a $800 recliner, you will not find it here, but this is recliner makes no claims to fit into this category. Anyone who expects this will be sadly disappointed - you know you are buying an entry level recliner, not a luxury liner. I suspect some of the more negative reviewers you might read are expecting to get something for nothing.
I would compare this recliner more closely to a very nice office chair rather than a living room recliner you want to relax in for hours at a time. The foot rest and reclining functions operate separately, so you can recline with or without the foot rest, or have the foot rest out with or without reclining.
In the non-reclined mode, the foot rest does seem quite short, but after reclining, the foot rest is about the right length to support your legs for a normal height adult. Most recliners are not long enough to support your heals; they stop at about the shin length. In any recliner, you don't want people with shoes on to be putting the bottom of their shoe on the reclining surface, as this will show significant signs of wear over time.
I am satisfied with the value of this recliner in the under three hundred dollar price point including shipping. Shop around and you can find it well under this point. I would not pay over this.
4.) I think it's fine, except for reclining mechanism

I found this to be quite comfortable; of course it's vinyl, but seems fairly sturdy. The only difficulty is that in order to recline, you have to pull a handle on the side forward instead of backward, which seems unnatural. I have covered it with nice throw, and it works fine for me in my office.
5.) Substandard recliner

Chair material was thin and recliner very uncomfortable, after a while, felt like sitting on cardboard. Mechanism was hard to recline and took two hands. Could not dismantle to return, company was of no help. Stuck with cheap chair.
6.) Made in China. Made for Small people

I'm only 6' tall and my arms don't even reach the arm rests. The foot rest hits me on the back of my calves and is very uncomfortable. The reclining mechanism has to be fought. The chair rests loosly on a 2" diameter swivel point and therefore has an unfortunate tendancy to wobble in all directions. The selling company does not offer the origin of manufacture. I guess they know how poorly manufactured this chair is and choose to deliberately hide the manufacturer. To suggest the retail listing of this chair is $558.00 also suggests fraud from this seller. It's barely worth the money I paid, but with the very high shipping cost I paid, I feel I got taken.
7.) Ugly, uncomfortable, and weak.

The leatherette is nothing like my black leather couch. The chair doesn't lean back far enough to be called a recliner. The leg rest doesn't support any weight. I'd suggest spending some extra money and getting a real recliner.

This thing is flimsy. When you lift up the foot piece you have to raise your feet or it will break. Very hard and uncomfortable. A real waste of money.
